Abstract

This work is the first stage of a doctoral thesis in conceptualizing the object "Social Manipulability". From a critical review of literature, it is expected to outline both the object and the possible indicators and variables capable of instrumentalizing this object analysis around public opinion. This transdisciplinary article builds the concept from studies in communication and media, political sociology, social psychology and collective epistemology. As a hypothesis, it is possible to analyze social manipulability as a function of a power relation that involves the administration of public opinion, the ideological system shared in a society, hegemony and symbolic economy. In conclusion, there is a duality between cultural traits and public policies, from which variables and indicators emerge.
